About Playto

Payments should carry context, not just money.

Playto is building the trust layer for global professional-services payments. We connect payment access with business verification, Buyer-readable trust signals, the Service agreement, transaction evidence and a direct support route.

The problem we care about

A successful payment is not always a clear transaction.

Money can move successfully while important questions remain unanswered: Who was verified? What exactly was purchased? What evidence exists for delivery? Where does a refund request go? When does the Service Partner become eligible for settlement?

Playto is designed to connect those questions to the payment itself instead of treating them as separate problems that appear only after something goes wrong.

Why Playto exists

The payment rail is only one part of a service transaction.

A professional-service payment can represent an advance before work starts, a milestone during a project, a recurring retainer, or a final payment after delivery. The payment rail matters, but the identity, agreement, evidence and resolution path around it matter too.

01 · Identity

Who is the Buyer paying?

The seller, professional Service, amount, currency and relevant terms should be understandable before the Buyer authorizes a payment.

02 · Trust

What evidence can the Buyer see?

Business verification, Trust Score signals and payment-backed reviews can give the Buyer more context than a generic payment link alone.

03 · Resolution

What happens if something goes wrong?

The Buyer should have a direct route for payment, delivery, refund and complaint questions, backed by transaction and delivery records.

Built for services

Professional work does not look like a shopping cart.

Agencies, consultants, freelancers, development shops and software or IT service businesses often get paid before, during and after work is delivered. Their transactions can include deposits, milestones, recurring retainers, revisions and longer delivery periods.

That makes clarity unusually important. A Buyer needs to know what is being purchased. The Service Partner needs to understand when payment becomes eligible for settlement. Both sides need records that still make sense weeks or months later.

Playto's current Merchant of Record model is built for approved professional services. It is not a physical-goods marketplace, and approval for one Service or transaction model does not automatically extend to a materially different one.

What guides the product

Access. Trust. Control.

Those three ideas shape how we think about payments for professional services.

01

Access

Give an approved professional-service business a practical way to present the transaction and let the Buyer use available cards, wallets or bank-transfer methods.

Make the payment possible.
02

Trust

Connect verification, Trust Score, payment-backed reviews, Service Orders and transaction evidence so the Buyer can understand more than just the amount due.

Make the payment understandable.
03

Control

Give Buyers and Service Partners clearer records, delivery stages, recurring-payment terms, refund routes, support and settlement status.

Make the payment manageable.
Playto Trust Score

A trust signal built into checkout.

Playto Trust Score is a live 0 to 1,000 business transaction trust signal. A score is assigned only when Playto has enough relevant evidence to support one, and it can change as verified information and transaction history change.

Verified business identityVerified business identity presented as a Buyer-readable trust signal.
Annual revenue & monthly volume bandsBuyer-readable bands rather than raw financial records.
Refund & dispute ratesExact rates with industry or Playto-wide benchmark context where appropriate.
Payment-backed reviewsReviews tied to eligible Playto payment activity.

Raw bank records, KYC/KYB files, beneficial-owner documents, sanctions-screening details, previous processor records and internal fraud or anti-gaming logic remain restricted. A Service Partner can request review of factual errors or misattributed information. Trust Score is not insurance, escrow, a consumer credit score or a guarantee of delivery, refund or dispute outcome.

How the relationship works

One Buyer-side transaction. A separate Service Partner relationship.

The structure is designed to keep the Buyer payment relationship clear without pretending that Playto itself performs every professional Service.

Buyer

Purchases from Playto

For an approved Merchant of Record transaction, the Buyer purchases the professional Service from Playto under the applicable Buyer Terms and Service Order.

Playto

Owns the Buyer-side commercial flow

Playto handles the Buyer-side commercial and payment relationship under the governing terms, including invoicing and charging, transaction records, recurring billing, applicable transaction taxes, refunds, payment disputes and direct support.

Service Partner

Performs the underlying work

The approved Service Partner separately contracts with Playto, performs the underlying professional work and is paid by Playto under the Service Partner terms and applicable settlement rules.

Product boundaries

Trust also means being clear about what Playto is not.

Not a bank

Playto does not represent a payment balance or collection arrangement as a bank deposit account unless a specific written arrangement expressly says otherwise.

Not escrow

Review periods, payout eligibility and reserves do not turn Playto into an escrow service or guarantee a particular outcome between the parties.

Not insurance

Trust Score, verification and transaction records can improve decision context, but they do not insure delivery, refunds or chargeback outcomes.

Not for every business

The current Merchant of Record scope is approved professional services. Business model, jurisdiction, ownership and transaction activity still determine eligibility.

What we try to make clear

No payment experience should depend on hidden assumptions.

01

The Buyer should recognize the transaction.

Seller identity, Service, amount, currency, recurring terms and support route should not be a mystery.

02

The business should understand the economics.

Published base pricing, any disclosed card-type, international or FX terms, payout timing, reserves and account-specific conditions should be understandable before they become relevant.

03

Trust should come from evidence.

Verification and transaction history should be translated into useful Buyer signals without exposing raw confidential underwriting or anti-fraud data.

04

Support should have a real owner.

Buyers and Service Partners should know where to go when a payment, refund, delivery, payout or dispute needs attention.
