Getting Started

From your business to your first Playto payment.

Tell us what professional Service you sell, complete the business review, confirm the approved payment setup, then send a clear Service Order and checkout to your Buyer.

Typical straightforward onboarding
1-2 days
A straightforward review with complete information can often be completed in this window. It is not a guaranteed approval time. Additional verification, provider review, complex ownership, higher-risk activity or missing information can take longer.

Current scope:Playto's Merchant of Record model is for approved professional services, not physical goods. Eligibility also depends on jurisdiction, business model, ownership and the requested payment flow.
Before you begin

Bring the real business, not a generic payments use case.

Playto is built for approved professional-service businesses. The faster we understand the real Service, Buyers, transaction sizes, currencies and payout needs, the easier it is to confirm whether the requested setup is available.

01 · Business

What do you actually sell?

Describe the professional Service, who buys it, where the business is established and whether you operate as a company, sole proprietor or individual professional. Physical-goods activity is outside the current Merchant of Record scope.

02 · Payments

How do clients pay you?

Share typical invoice size, expected monthly volume, Buyer countries, B2B/B2C mix, invoice currencies, payment methods and whether you need recurring billing.

03 · Payouts

Where should funds go?

Tell us the payout country and currency you need, and any operational requirement that matters to your finance workflow.

The onboarding path

Six steps to the first transaction.

A straightforward account does not need to feel like an enterprise implementation. Each step exists to make the payment structure clear before money moves.

01

Tell us the business basics

Share your legal business name, registration location, professional Service, typical Buyers, invoice sizes, expected monthly volume, main currencies and payout needs. If you operate as a sole proprietor or individual professional, say so.

Example“We provide monthly video editing to US businesses, invoice in USD and want weekly settlement to our business account.”
02

Show us a real transaction

A representative client engagement helps Playto understand the actual commercial flow. Include deposits, milestones, recurring retainers, long delivery periods, consumer or sole-proprietor Buyers, third-party funds, or anything else that changes the risk or legal structure.

Describe the model you actually intend to use. Approval for one transaction type does not automatically approve a materially different collection model later.

03

Complete business verification

Playto may request business registration information, beneficial-owner details, identity information, website or service evidence, contracts, expected activity, payout details or payment history relevant to the review. Requirements depend on the business and requested setup.

Use the approved secure submission route for sensitive records. Do not send passwords, full card data, one-time codes or unnecessary identity documents through ordinary email.

04

Confirm the approved commercial setup

Review the professional Services approved for the account, enabled payment methods, currencies, pricing, payout destination, weekly settlement process and any account-specific reserve, review, jurisdiction or transaction conditions.

Published base pricing. Applicable international, card-type, FX or account-specific terms are shown through the relevant pricing or account terms where they apply.

05

Prepare the Buyer-facing transaction

Before the Buyer pays, the Service Order or payment request should make the professional Service, seller identity, amount, currency, delivery or milestone dates, recurring terms where relevant, cancellation and refund route, and support contact understandable.

For an approved Playto Merchant of Record transaction, the Buyer purchases the Service from Playto. Playto separately contracts with and pays the approved Service Partner that performs the underlying work.

06

Send the first payment

Once activation is confirmed, create the approved payment request and let the Buyer use the available checkout or bank-transfer method. The Buyer receives the relevant transaction record and can contact Playto directly for payment support.

After payment, follow the agreed delivery and milestone record. Standard supplier settlement becomes eligible at the later of payment clearing and the end of the relevant Review Period, then enters the next weekly payout cycle, subject to checks, reserves, set-off and provider availability.

What the review decides

Approval is for a defined setup, not every possible transaction.

The onboarding review is meant to answer a practical question: which professional Services, Buyers, payment methods, currencies, jurisdictions and payout arrangements Playto can support for this account.

Approved

The account can use the confirmed Services, payment methods, currencies and transaction pattern, subject to the applicable terms and ongoing monitoring.

Approved with conditions

Playto may apply transaction limits, additional review, reserves, longer review periods or other account-specific controls where the risk profile requires them.

Not available

A Service, jurisdiction, ownership structure, payment flow or risk profile may fall outside Playto's current acceptance criteria. Approval is not guaranteed.

What to prepare

A short checklist before you start.

You do not need to send everything before Playto asks for it. Having the information ready simply makes the review easier.

Business identityLegal name, registration jurisdiction and operating website or profile.
OwnershipRelevant beneficial-owner and authorized-person information.
ServiceA clear description of the professional work and typical engagement.
Buyer profileMain Buyer countries, B2B/B2C mix and typical transaction values.
VolumeExpected monthly processing volume and transaction pattern.
PaymentsNeeded cards, wallets, bank transfers and recurring billing.
PayoutsDesired destination country, currency and business account.
Example transactionA real contract, invoice, proposal or representative engagement where useful.
Check geography early. Some jurisdictions are blocked and others require enhanced review. Use the current Restricted Jurisdictions Policy rather than relying on a static country list.
Trust Score

Verification becomes part of the Buyer experience.

Playto Trust Score is a live 0 to 1,000 business transaction trust signal. A score is assigned only when the product has enough relevant evidence to support one, and selected trust information can then help Buyers understand the business they are transacting with.

Buyer-visible

Selected trust signals

Verified business identity, approved revenue and volume bands, refund and dispute rates, benchmark comparison and payment-backed reviews where applicable.

Private

Raw risk data stays restricted

Bank records, KYC/KYB documents, beneficial-owner files, sanctions details, processor history and internal fraud logic are not turned into public profile content.

Limited history

New businesses are not treated as mature ones

Where evidence is limited, Playto should reflect that rather than implying a longer operating or payment history than the underlying data supports.

Before activation

Know exactly what has been approved.

Opening an account or seeing a payment method on the website does not mean every method, market or transaction type is automatically enabled for every Service Partner.

Confirm before promising a Buyer

Check the approved Service, Buyer geographies, transaction currencies, enabled payment methods, recurring-payment support, expected settlement, payout destination and any account-specific review conditions before promising a Buyer a particular flow.

Tell Playto when the model changes

Contact Playto before materially changing the Service, adding third-party funds, entering a new jurisdiction, changing the Buyer mix, or introducing a materially different payment model. The original approval may not cover the new activity.

After activation

Verification is not a one-time event.

Playto may re-review an account when facts change or when a transaction, compliance or payment issue requires updated information.

Keep business information current

Tell Playto when ownership, legal entity details, websites, payout accounts or other material business information changes.

Expect transaction monitoring

Material changes in volume, ticket size, Buyer geography, refund or dispute behavior, or Service type can trigger additional review.

Respond through secure channels

If Playto requests updated evidence, use the approved submission route and provide only the records reasonably needed for the review.

What can slow onboarding?

Most delays come from unresolved facts, not the form itself.

Incomplete ownership information

Missing or inconsistent legal-entity, beneficial-owner or authorized-person details can pause verification.

Unclear service model

A website or application that does not explain what is being sold, who performs it or how the Buyer is charged can require additional review.

Higher-risk activity or geography

Restricted or enhanced-review jurisdictions, unusual transaction patterns, regulated or restricted activity, third-party funds, or a materially different business model can require deeper review or make the setup unavailable.
